I agree. I have a core 2 (dual core) at 3ghz and can record 4 hd programs, watch a 5th, and download a torrent at the same time with no issues. I also have the hd4670 passively cooled video card. HD video is not that CPU intensive unless you are transcoding or ripping commercials.

I have tried a few ir repeaters, and by far the best for the money is the Microsmith Hot Link XL. Use cat5 and it works to 100'. The receiver is so sensitive, you can usually point the remote anywhere in the room and it will pick up the signal. There is no delay either. I installed two of these this year.

Run the setup on the HDHR, go to antenna channels and rename the guide name of each channel to exactly what is says on Zap2It. This fixed the problem on mine.

I believe the only way currently to get HD out of a cable box is to us the Hauppauge HD-PVR, though I am not familiar with the Rogers Digital HD Box. This will not let you watch 2 stations at once. No tuner will work for this as far as I know. Tuners are for OTA HD or QAM basic cable.

The folks at silicon dust have really good tech support, so if you can't resolve just call them. They actually ...

HIS 4670 iSilence is what I have in my HTPC. Probably overkill, but it uses much less power than any other serious card. Its passively cooled. Less power, less heat, equals less noise for the system as a whole. Plus this card has some real capabilities.

I have a 2250 and an HD homerun. Reception wise there is no doubt the Hauppauge 2250 is better. I have one very weak station that the homerun will not pick up and the 2250 will. The homerun does have its advantages since its a network tuner. The 2250 is the best card out right now.

I have a Happauge 2250 also. I have a massive tree problem. I finally moved my antenna about 150' away from my house, and trees, on a 30' mast. I have a Channel Master 4228, which is a high gain UHF antenna. Also have a Channel Master preamp, but it caused problems. Even with about 200' of RG6, I can get better reception with no amp. These ...
