Had It With Wizards! Where are the Individual Settings Located for Settings/TV Signal or Settings/Configure Monitor?

So far, I have been going through the wizards for changing my "Tasks/Settings/TV/Setup TV Signal", and "Configure Your TV or Monitor" on my Windows 7 Media Center.  I've finally had enough.  It takes half an hour to go through the TV Signal wizard just to make a simple change, such as changing your IR Blaster speed, while it downloads program guides, and has you accept license terms, etc., etc. etc.

I don't care if I have to edit the registry, as long as I don't have to go through another wizard again.  Can anyone tell me where to find the individual settings?

     Thanks.

I share your pain but there's no simple answer to this. The settings are in many many locations all over the registry.

    Thank you for the response.

I guess this is something for the "wish list" for a future version or service pack.

A lot of the video-related registry keys are documented either here or on the australian MCE forum. I've just spent ages trying to find the registry setting which controls the video card "flicker filter" option when MCE is in full screen mode, found it eventually. When Vista TV pack was introduced, a lot of the key names changed, which doesn't help.

What did you search on to find the keys?  I would imagine it would be hard to find the flicker filter key.  I didn't even know there was such a setting..

     Thanks,

It's an Nvidia thing... on my old CRT television it was making the picture look very "soft". Changing the setting in the Nvidia control panel only affected the W7 desktop and did not affect the full screen media center display. It appears to be hard coded to 50% for media center fullscreen.

I tried all sorts to find it. Eventually searched the registry for "Flickerfilter" and guess what. But the reg keys often do not have logical names and it's hard to find them this way.

This is a great tip!  I have an nVidia card, too, and running into a CRT TV.  I bumped the sharpness up on the TV, but maybe I needed to blame the video card.

     Thanks!
