It's great news that it will be become a proper channel on Freesat. Hopefully it will not fix the issue with black screen no sound on ATI graphics.

Awesome!! Freeview HD hasnt been pushed out to my region yet (Scheduled for Mar-June). My DVB-T usb dongles are supposedly HD compatible so hopefully wont have any issues.
I'm guessing a re-tune will be required?? I'd hate to think i have to do randomly do a retune every week or so as Mar-Jun is a fairly vague timescale.

Has this been confirmed yet? Im sure I read somewhere that Freeview hadnt decided on the transmission as t2 was still relatively new technology with higher cost implications.
I've already got 3 usb dongles in my mce, I dont want to have to plug anymore in if I can help it!!! :p

Re: ITV1 HD to launch as proper standalone channel
Based on the details here, I read into this, that they will require T2 dongles.

I've had an email from Hauppauge saying they will release a DVB-T2 usb stick in time for the world cup so i'll guess Freeview HD will be this....

Does ITV still exist? I have no interest in soaps or reality shows and now the F1 is back on the BBC it would be months before I noticed ITV not being there anymore.

Thankfully, my wife also doesn't have any interest in the seemingly never ending torrent of dancing and other "talent" shows that infect ITV.
