kaniada what you refer to seems to be an issue when resuming from sleep which has nothing to do with this issue.

My machine never sleeps and I experience this problem from both media center and extenders. It is a signal lose issue which was supposed to be addressed if the firmware update but as I and many others are still have the issue it looks like it has not worked for everyone.

I saw a post at the avs forum revolving around some of the issues regarding the ati tv wonder so I started to experiment a bit.  All I needed to do was right click on mce and hit run as administrator.  I also have UAC turned off as I find it extremely annoying.  I have not had any channel changing issues at all since starting MCE running as administrator this evening so hopefully this fix will work until microsoft releases a patch for this behavior.  In one of the bug posts a MS rep acknowledges this bug and confirms they are working on a fix for it.

Just a random comment - Asked Dell for the missing remote and they shipped it withing 24 hours.  It did take them a little research to figure out which one to get but they did a great job.

Many companies suck WAY more than dell.  I'm pretty sure they are doing their best as a large organization to do the right thing!

When I received my 420 on Wed I was missing a remote as well. Before I ordered I had looked at the official Dell 420 Reviewer's Guide http://direct2dell.com/files/folders/test_folder/entry32145.aspx

which shows, as standard this really nice preminum remote on pg 23. It may have the part # 0RY496 - I found this number on the Dell Community notes on the XPS 2010 missing remote issue that some people had. I called support last night, and after about 30 mins or so, they have ordered this part for me at no charge. I'm somewhat concerned that it may or may not contain the actual USB receiver with it, but I guess I find out when it arrives around the end of the month.

Anyone have this particular remote with that part # and did it include the USB receiver? It is made by Gyration which is sold at Circuit City, etc for about $100 but lacks the LCD display as shown in the Dell book.
