ehrcvr.exe memory usage only resets after complete PC shutdown

I never really noticed this in mce2005, but in my vista pc in the living room, it runs 24/7.  I had noticed that when I would press stop on Live TV, it was taking longer and longer to go to the previous screen.  When I looked at the task manager, the ehrcvr.exe was using an emourmous amount of memory.  I was under the impression that the "optimization" was suppose to restart these services to clear out the memory usage.  I had resarted the pc a few times, memory usage was still high, then I did a complete shutdown.  When it came back up, the memory usage for vmc was more reasonable.

Has anyone else noticed this?  I guess for now, once a week I will do a shutdown to keep this in check.

Do what I do, create a little batch file with the "shutdown.exe" file, then put it in your scheduled tasks. I have my system shutdown and reboot 3 times a week, on off hours, when nothing is recording or no one will be watching tv.

After that, it's a set it and forget it....never worry about it any more...
