Looking for a specific external multimedia device

I have the iDea 510 that runs MCE 2005 and i have no problems with the machine and i don't think i plan to do an upgrade this year to VMC so I'm looking to some sort of "extender" in the form of an external multimedia device (like the iZak, PopCorn device etc) but basically with these characteristics so that i can use:

    • All my files will be on a MediaSmart server so i need the device to be able to play files from a LAN so i don't mind if it only has a LAN card and no internal HDD
    • Be able to play divx/xvid files with the support of external subtitles (.srt) preferable Unicode characters (Greek language), although i assume most of them supports unicode, and ofcourse most popular video codecs
    • I don't care about Live TV streaming from the MCE, don't need it
    • Be able to play .iso files cause i have ripped DVD on the server (or complete VIDEO_TS folders if .iso is not supported from the machine)
    • Be able to play DVR-MS files which are archived recordings from my MCE to the MediaSmart server.
    • I don't care about the connection to the TV will be, scart, RCA anything
    • No keyboard just normal IR remote control
Is there such a device available ??

    Thank you in advance.

Maybe HP's mediasmart connect. Except for the .iso of course. Only SageTV will deal with those.

nice but i find the price way over.
With 300$ i can get a old laptop to do that job.

Which btw i start to consider that option...i mean isn't that an option ?
An old laptop with an IR dongle for a remote, and perhaps a linux media player boot of some sort that can do that job.
Or is there a software with a 10 foot interface that can work from windows and do the things mentioned above ??

You can't use a PC as an extender. That only works with SageTV.

i don't need an extender, thats why i said no LiveTV.
I just need a device that basically can stream of the network video files with support for subtitles and can also play dvr-ms files.
So basically a laptop with an application can do it...i was searching and fine mediaportal which has a 10 foot interface...
has anyone use it? does it play dvr-ms files ?
